"The MFSA tool is very useful and can help LGs assess their financial performance and look for additional financing. On the other hand, it is a huge responsibility to translate the budget into strategies that will drive LG's development",
Reisa Duraj, Head of Finance and Treasure Relations Sector of the Shkoder Municipality, Albania

"This capacity building program will enhance knowledge and skills of local governments, particularly of medium and large cities."

Partnership Forum

Feb 2-4, 2011
A range of partners/ stakeholders attended the Forum held at the Joint Vienna Institute (JVI) in Vienna, including 17 representatives of Associations of Municipalities, Associations of Providers of Communal Services, Network of Associations of Local Authorities in South-East Europe (NALAS), Public Utility Companies (PUCs), and NGOs/CSOs from the target countries, as well as Austrian partner organizations (i.e. Federal Ministry of Finance, TINA Vienna, Austrian Association of Cities and Towns, Vienna Water Works). The Partnership Forum provided good ground for prioritization of the capacity needs and reflection on how capacity development interventions might be designed. Key findings of prior country consultations were confirmed at the Forum. The meeting built foundation for partnerships with key stakeholders and elicited their support in preparation of the May launch symposium.
